Tristan Massey, PE
Tristan has been interested in renewable energy since he studied the basics of electricity at Oregon State University. The completion of his degree brought him to San Diego, where he began developing solar PV design skills. He first became a specialist in commercial PV systems and led solar power designs for a number of hospitals and schools across the United States. Later on he rounded out his design skillset by assisting with and optimizing the designs of many utility-scale ground-mount PV projects as large as 500 MW. He also provided technical analyses such as grounding system efficacy, arc flash analysis, and underground cable thermal properties for many of these large projects to assure the facilities were safe to maintain and guaranteed to last. He joined OurEnergy in 2023 to continue supporting solar development and to learn more about how microgrids can support communities without access to the grid.
In his free time, Tristan most enjoys traveling North America, visiting rock climbing destinations to scale the cliffs and photograph the incredible views and wildlife that can be found scattered across the continent.
