Eric Bastoul has 7 years of experience in the Renewable Energy industry, specializing in the design and engineering of photovoltaic (PV) plants and battery energy storage systems (BESS). His expertise spans diverse projects, from residential to utility-scale PV installations, including carports, rooftops, and ground mounts. Eric has also worked extensively on standalone and hybrid BESS projects. His work has taken him globally, developing mini-grids and distribution networks in regions such as Africa, the Middle East, the Caribbean, and South America. Eric is passionate about enhancing resilience and reliability in energy access, exploring synergies between technologies like BESS, PV, hydro, and wind to create sustainable and efficient energy solutions.

Eric has successfully led, managed, and grown multidisciplinary teams comprising civil, electrical, structural, design, and performance engineers. He has served as an owner’s engineer and lender’s technical advisor on projects in Zambia, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Djibouti, and Colombia, showcasing his adaptability and expertise in varying market conditions. Additionally, Eric has assessed and designed mini-grids for hospitals in Sierra Leone and communities in Colombia, further highlighting his commitment to improving energy access. He has experience supporting IPP development, managing EPCs from both Owner and IPP perspectives, and executing work from the EPC perspective.

Eric holds a PE license in Electrical Engineering, an MS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Southern California, and a BS in Chemical Engineering from Rice University. His comprehensive skill set includes system design, production modeling, feasibility analysis, risk assessment, project and budget management, and critical path management, all of which contribute to his effectiveness in delivering successful renewable energy projects.
